PRESS RELEASE – The Banks County Sheriff’s Office K9 unit has been hard at work to protect the citizens of Banks County.
Last night, K9 Supervisor Corporal Burnette and K9 Bruce recovered a substantial amount of suspected methamphetamine and marijuana from multiple traffic stops.
During the multi-agency search for a criminal suspect on Tuesday, Deputy Pressley and K9 Becka assisted recovery by following the suspect’s scent trail.
Last Friday, Deputy Dempsey and K9 Renno graduated Hall County Sheriff’s Office’s Narcotics Detection K9 Handlers Course.
The K9 unit is a valuable asset to public safety, as demonstrated by their accomplishments in the past week. In addition to tracking criminal suspects and detecting narcotics, the unit is incredibly useful for emergency rescue and locating missing persons.
